Description
Convened by Newcomb Institute, the New Orleans Maternal and Child Health Coalition fosters collaboration between organizations to improve the quality of care for Black mothers and infants in New Orleans. We advocate for changes in policy and practices that will ultimately provide that all birthing people and their families can thrive in this city. We are unable to do this work without the energy, knowledge, and creativity of students interested in and/or studying maternal and child health. Coalition-building is rewarding but time-consuming. Students who work with the coalition develop valuable skills and experience. 100% of your contribution will be used to compensate students for their time and effort working on key advocacy initiatives for the New Orleans Maternal and Child Health Coalition.

Donations will be applied to compensating Tulane University students for their work with the New Orleans Maternal and Child Health Coalition, an organization affiliated with Tulane University's Newcomb Institute.

Why are donations necessary?
Newcomb Institute has a limited budget to fund students who work for the New Orleans Maternal and Child Health Coalition. The work done by Tulane University students is vital to the advocacy efforts of this Coalition and working for the Coalition is an excellent professional development opportunity for the students.
