Students Against Food Insecurity is a brand new student organization that is driven to increase awareness of food insecurity among Tulane students and food deserts in the New Orleans community. SAFI works toward our goals of raising awareness and directly addressing food insecurity by hosting informational meetings, partnering with campus organizations and community organizations with similar purposes, and promoting service events and excursions that directly impact Tulane students and surrounding communities.
Donations are applied to...
The proceeds received from your gift will be used to support the supplying of goods for our community pantry in which non-perishable food will be accessible to all on a need-blind, no questions asked basis. Most specifically, the funding would go toward grocery collection for the pantry, ensuring there are nutritious options available to those who lack access. With generous community donations keeping the pantry fully stocked, this pantry will always be a resource for students and community members suffering from food insecurity to have unrestricted access to goods that meet their needs.
Thank you so much for supporting our new project, we are so glad to be able to bring this new resource to our community!
Why are donations necessary?
Our community pantry is fully stocked through donation and grant funding. This project seeks to raise funds to create and facilitate a community pantry that will be accessible to members of the Tulane community in our efforts to combat food insecurity. A donation as little as $5 today could provide a student on our campus with a nutritious free meal.
