Description

To commemorate the 30 year anniversary of the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Tulane University, the O Peer Mentors Program (originally known as the Big Brother Big Sister Peer Mentoring Program and eventually the O Ambassadors Peer Program) has launched a campaign to enhance our support for first year students through peer mentoring. If you've had a mentor or were a mentor, this is a great way to pay it forward and blaze a trail for the next generation!

Donations are applied to...

Contributions can be used to support program enhancements, new materials, meals, supplies, technology to support program infrastructure, incentives for mentor recruitment and retention, recognition, increased access to services and opportunities on and off campus, transportation, and more.

Personal Message

Alumni may remember that navigating the campus climate can be difficult. At times students may feel isolated and homesick. Having someone who shared that experience help you find your way on campus is extremely important, whether that means showing someone where to find a hair stylist or barber, or simply getting together to share a home cooked meal at the Leadership Retreat. Developing a bond that makes you feel more at home and less like "the only one" can be the thing that gets a student to graduation and beyond. Each contribution to the O Peer Mentors Program has a long lasting positive impact on the student experience at Tulane University. Your donation could help us broaden the horizons of new students who wish to connect with someone that will help them navigate the campus community as well as New Orleans. Thank you for your contribution and commitment to the future of the Peer Mentors Program in commemoration of 30 years of Multicultural Affairs at Tulane. I appreciate your continued support of our effort. Sincerely, Carolyn Barber-Pierre

Why are donations necessary?

Since 1986, the O Peer Mentors Program has equipped new students with the tools they need to thrive at Tulane. The program has grown to serve a variety of students holding various and multiple identities. The recent increase in the class size and diversity of first year students at Tulane has resulted in higher demand for peer-to-peer mentor engagement on campus. Donations will allow us to continue developing a high impact, sustainable program that fosters long-term benefits for all mentors and mentees.
